Silah Usage Policy
Last updated: August 2026
1. What Silah is — and is not
Silah is a care-organizing tool that helps a family keep their parents’ medications, appointments, and readings in one place.
The app is not a medical device. It provides no diagnosis, no prescription, and no medical opinion, and it does not replace consulting a doctor or pharmacist. Everything it shows — including alerts, vital thresholds, and reports — organises what you entered; it is not a clinical judgement.
Never start, stop, or change a medication based on the app. That decision belongs to the treating physician.
2. Reminders — and their limits
Reminders are sent on a best-effort basis and may be delayed or fail for reasons outside our control: network or power outages, a switched-off device, disabled notifications, carrier delays, or an incorrect mobile number.
Do not rely on the app alone for a critical medication (such as insulin, cardiac drugs, or anticoagulants). Always keep a human backup or an independent alarm alongside it.
Marking a dose “taken” reflects whoever pressed the button — the app cannot verify that the medication was actually taken.
3. The SOS button — what it does and does not do
The SOS button only alerts the contacts you added. It does not call an ambulance, the Red Crescent, or any emergency service, and it is not monitored by us around the clock.
In an emergency call 997 (Saudi Red Crescent) immediately. Do not wait for a response from the app.
Delivery of an SOS alert depends on the network and the recipient’s device; we cannot guarantee delivery or response time.
4. The care recipient’s consent — your responsibility
When you create a profile for a parent or anyone else, you are recording health data belonging to a third party — among the most sensitive categories under the Saudi PDPL.
You confirm that you have the care recipient’s consent, or the legal authority to act for them (guardianship or a lawful power of attorney), and that you will inform them that their data is recorded and with whom it is shared.
You are equally responsible for whom you add to the care circle: every member you add will see the recipient’s health data at the permission level you grant. Review the circle periodically and remove anyone who no longer needs access.
5. Your health data and how it is protected
Health data and personal identifiers are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and in transit, and hosted on servers inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
We never sell your health data, never share it with advertisers or any outside party, and never use it for tracking or advertising. It is used solely to run the features you asked for.
You may view, export, or delete your data at any time from the “My data & rights” page. Deleting a recipient’s profile deletes their medications, appointments, readings, and reports.
See the Privacy Policy for full details.
6. Reports and sharing with a doctor
The medical summary and medication list present what you recorded, to give a doctor a quick view — they are not a certified medical record or an official document.
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter. Review the data before sharing it: an error in a drug name or dose could inform a clinical decision.
When you share a report or a calendar link outside the app, the data leaves the app’s protection and becomes your responsibility.
7. Subscription and cancellation
Use begins with a 7-day free trial with no card, after which a monthly subscription is required to continue.
You may cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the paid period. After a subscription ends, your data is retained for a window during which you can export it or resubscribe.
For refunds see the Refund Policy; for general account terms see the Terms of Service.
8. Limitation of liability
The app is provided as an organisational aid. We are not liable for health harm arising from relying on the app alone, from a reminder that did not arrive, from data entered incorrectly, or from an SOS alert that went unanswered.
This clause does not affect your statutory rights in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
